Introduction About CALPOL 250MG SUSPENSION

Calpol Strawberry Flavour Suspension is a painkiller and anti-pyretic medicine. It is used in children to temporarily relieve mild to moderate pain such as headache, toothache, migraine, nerve pain, sore throat, period pains and general aches and helps to reduce fever (high body temperature). Also, it relieves symptoms of cold and flu. It contains paracetamol as an active ingredient that reduces fever and pain.   

Paracetamol relieves pain by increasing the pain threshold by inhibiting certain enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2) involved in synthesis of chemicals responsible for inducing pain (prostaglandins). It reduces fever by directly acting on heat-regulating centers in the brain, resulting in vessel relaxation, sweating and loss of body heat.     

Always take Calpol Strawberry Flavour Suspension as advised by the physician. Shake well before each use. Use a measuring cup to properly measure the dose. Do not exceed the recommended daily dosage. Do not give Calpol Strawberry Flavour Suspension to your child if your child is allergic to any of its components.

Safety Advice

• Always take Calpol Strawberry Flavour Suspension as advised by the physician
• Use a measuring cup to properly measure the dose. Shake well before each use
• Do not exceed the recommended daily dosage. Maximum daily dosage is 60 mg/kg in divided doses of 10-15 mg/kg throughout the 24 hours period.
• Do not give more than 4 doses in any 24-hour period and should not be used more than 3 days without proper medical advice
• Before giving Calpol Strawberry Flavour Suspension to your child inform doctor if your child is suffering from any medical condition such as liver or kidney problems, inherited intolerance to fructose or intolerance to certain sugars
• Do not give Calpol Strawberry Flavour Suspension to your child if your child is allergic to any of its components
• Inform your child’s doctor if your child is taking or have recently taken any other medicines including prescription, over the counter medications, as well as vitamin or herbal supplements
