Introduction About AZERIN XL SUSPENSION
AZERIN XL SUSPENSION is used in children to manage infections caused by bacteria and other microorganisms, which include chest, throat, and nasal infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, sore throat, and sinusitis.
It is also used to manage ear infections (such as acute otitis media) and skin and soft tissue infections (such as an abscess or boil) and sexually transmitted diseases (caused by Chlamydia trachomatis/Neisseria gonorrhoea) in the affected child.
It contains a medicine called azithromycin, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics that works by preventing the growth of bacteria and helps clear up the infection.
Before administering AZERIN XL SUSPENSION, inform your doctor if the child has diabetes, myasthenia gravis (a condition marked by weak muscles), heart problems, liver problems (such as an impaired hepatic function), and/or kidney problems (such as impaired renal function).
AZERIN XL SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women since it is used only in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years). It is also not recommended for use in elderly patients.
The most common side effects of administering AZERIN XL SUSPENSION in children are stomach cramps, nausea, diarrhea, flatulence, dizziness, headache, skin rash, or itching. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms become worse in the child.

Used in pediatric patients:
- To manage infections caused by bacteria and other microorganisms, which include chest, throat, and nasal infections
- To manage ear infections such as acute otitis media and skin & soft tissue infections such as abscesses or boil
- To manage sexually transmitted diseases caused by organisms such as Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoea

AZERIN XL SUSPENSION works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis (essential for the bacteria to grow) that results in its destruction, thus managing its growth and spread of infection in affected individuals.
How to use AZERIN XL SUSPENSION
Administer AZERIN XL SUSPENSION in the child as advised by your physician.
For syrup: shake well before use.
For dry syrup: shake the dry powder loose and reconstitute the dry powder in the required ml of water before consuming.
Your doctor will decide the exact dose and duration of management for your child depending on the child’s age, body weight, and disease condition.
