INTRODUCTION
AMIUR 5MG contains Amiloride which belongs to the group of medicines called Diuretics (water tablets). It is used to manage high blood pressure (a condition in which the force of the blood against the artery walls is too high), congestive heart failure (a chronic condition in which the heart doesn't pump blood efficiently) and liver cirrhosis (chronic liver damage that leads to scarring of liver tissue and liver failure) with swelling of the abdomen (ascites).
AMIUR 5MG is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney disease, kidney failure, high blood potassium levels (hyperkalaemia), diabetic neuropathy and who are unable to produce any urine. It should be used with caution in patients with kidney impairment and severe liver disease. Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking AMIUR 5MG as it may reduce your blood pressure severely.
Before taking AMIUR 5MG inform your doctor if you had or have high levels of acid in the body (metabolic or respiratory acidosis), disturbances of blood chemicals and diabetes. AMIUR 5MG is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (under 18 years of age) and it should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years and above).
