AIRZ 25 F CAPSULE is a fixed-dose combination of formoterol and glycopyrronium which belongs to the group of medicines called bronchodilators. It is used in the management of breathing difficulty in patients with chronic pulmonary disease (COPD). Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a chronic inflammatory lung disease that obstructs the regular airflow from the lungs causing breathing difficulty. Emphysema and chronic bronchitis are common conditions of COPD.

AIRZ 25 F CAPSULE is not recommended for patients with asthma and potentially life-threatening conditions of COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). AIRZ 25 F CAPSULE should be used with caution in patients with heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid disorder, epilepsy, urinary retention, and narrow-angle glaucoma.

How AIRZ 25 F CAPSULE Works

AIRZ 25 F CAPSULE is an anti-asthmatic medicine that works by managing breathing difficulty. It has two medicines namely formoterol and glycopyrronium. Formoterol is a bronchodilator which actively produces relaxation to the smooth muscles in the airway managing constriction of smooth muscles and breathing difficulty.

Glycopyrronium is a muscarinic antagonist that blocks the receptors of the smooth muscles causing constriction producing dilation of the bronchial muscles and reducing the bronchial secretions. Thus AIRZ 25 F CAPSULE collectively works by relaxation of smooth muscle and reducing bronchial secretion.

How to use AIRZ 25 F CAPSULE

Take AIRZ 25 F CAPSULE as advised by your physician. It is for inhalation use only. Do not crush, chew, or swallow the capsules. Do not miss any dose of AIRZ 25 F CAPSULE. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition. Rinse your mouth with water after using AIRZ 25 F CAPSULE to help reduce your chance of fungal infections.

How To Manage Side Effects

Dizziness Or Drowsiness

Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume alcohol, as it can aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

Headache

Take some rest, in a quiet place avoid using user mobile phones and other electronic devices for a while. Drink enough amount of Water, dehydration may lead you to develop a headache. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor.

Nausea And Vomiting

Drink clear or ice-cold drinks. Eat light, bland foods. Avoid fried, greasy, or sweet foods.  Eat slowly and eat smaller, more frequent meals, drink gradually larger amounts of clear liquids, avoid solid food until the vomiting episode has passed, and take rest. A. Drug-Drug interactions:

Before taking AIRZ 25 F CAPSULE, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

• medicines used to manage high blood pressure also known as beta-blockers Ex. propranolol, metoprolol, atenolol
• medicines used to manage fluid accumulation by increasing urine secretion Ex. furosemide
• medicines used to manage depression Ex selegiline, phenelzine, amitriptyline, imipramine
• medicines used to manage inflammation. Ex. prednisolone
• medicines used to manage bacterial infection Ex. erythromycin, clarithromycin, telithromycin
• medicines used to manage allergic reactions Ex. cetirizine
• medicines used to increase blood pressure Ex. phenylephrine, dopamine
• other medicines used to manage asthma and COPD such as Ex. tiotropium, aclidinium, umeclidinium, theophylline, salbutamol

B. Drug–food interactions:

Do not take AIRZ 25 F CAPSULE if you are allergic to a substance containing milk protein(lactulose).

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally took more of AIRZ 25 F CAPSULE, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, blurred vision, eye pain, vision disturbances, eye redness, difficulties in passing urine, seizures, chest pain, abnormal blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, nervousness, headache, tremor, muscle cramps, sleep disturbances, metabolic acidosis, changes in blood potassium levels. Metabolic acidosis, cardiac arrest and even death may also occur.
