Other Information

The Sterimed Pressure Monitoring Line (SMD 706) is a medical device used for accurate and continuous measurement of a patient's intravascular and arterial pressure. It is designed for use in critical care settings, during surgeries, and in emergency situations to connect the patient to a monitoring device. Made from non-toxic, medical-grade PVC, this tubing is intended for short-term use by healthcare professionals to monitor hemodynamic status in both adult and child patients.

Sterile and Single-Use: The line is sterile and designed for single use to reduce the risk of infections and cross-contamination. Transparent and Flexible Tubing: The clear tubing allows for easy visualization of fluid and any potential air bubbles, while its flexibility aids in handling. Durable and Kink-Resistant: Constructed from kink-resistant material to ensure a reliable and consistent flow and accurate pressure readings. Universal Connectors: Equipped with universal male and female luer lock connectors to securely fit standard medical equipment. High-Pressure Tolerance: The line is capable of withstanding high pressure, with specifications noting a tolerance of up to 580 PSI or 55 bar.

Q: What is the primary purpose of the Sterimed Pressure Monitoring Line?

A: This device is used for invasive blood pressure monitoring, connecting a patient to a pressure transducer, often during cardiac surgeries or in intensive care settings.

Q: What material is the tubing made from?

A: The tubing is constructed from clear, kink-resistant, and non-toxic medical-grade Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC).

Q: Is this product intended for single or multiple uses?

A: It is a single-use, sterile product and should be used immediately after opening the package.

Q: What type of connectors does this line have?

A: It is equipped with universal male and female luer lock connectors at its ends to ensure a secure fit with standard medical equipment.

Q: Who is qualified to use this medical device?

A: The use of this pressure monitoring line is restricted to qualified doctors and other healthcare professionals in a clinical environment.

The primary function of the pressure monitoring line is to transmit pressure data from the patient's vascular system to a monitoring device, allowing for real-time assessment. It is designed to provide precise intravascular and arterial pressure measurements, which is crucial for monitoring patients in critical care situations and during surgical procedures. The single-use, sterile design enhances patient safety by minimizing the risk of infection. Its construction from durable, kink-resistant materials ensures the reliability and consistency of pressure measurements during monitoring.

For use by doctors or qualified healthcare professionals only. Read the instructions carefully before use. Open the sterile package and remove the device. Ensure the pressure line is free of air bubbles before connecting it. Connect the line between the patient's catheter and the pressure transducer. The transducer should be placed at the level of the patient's right atrium to ensure accurate readings. Zero the transducer by turning the stopcock off to the patient and opening it to the air before pressing the zero button on the monitor. After zeroing, turn the stopcock off to the air to commence monitoring.

For single use only to prevent cross-contamination and infection. To be used only by qualified healthcare professionals. Check for any air bubbles in the tubing before use, as this can interfere with the accuracy of readings. Ensure the transducer is correctly leveled at the patient's phlebostatic axis to avoid inaccurate blood pressure fluctuations. Do not use if the package is open or damaged. Contraindications include infection at the insertion site, compromised collateral circulation, vessel arteritis, peripheral arterial vascular insufficiency, or if the patient has coagulopathies.

Made from non-toxic, medical-grade PVC. This product is latex-free. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Individually packed in a sterile peelable pouch and blister pack.
