Ensure the pressure line is free of air bubbles before connecting it. Connect the line between the patient's catheter and the pressure transducer. The transducer should be placed at the level of the patient's right atrium to ensure accurate readings. Zero the transducer by turning the stopcock off to the patient and opening it to the air before pressing the zero button on the monitor. After zeroing, turn the stopcock off to the air to commence monitoring.
