Other Information

The Romsons Guedel Airway GS-2012 is an oropharyngeal airway designed to maintain an unobstructed airway for patients who are unconscious or under general anaesthesia. It is constructed from a non-toxic, non-irritant PE polymer. The device's design conforms to the oropharyngeal anatomy and includes an integral hard bite block to prevent the tongue from blocking the airway. Its smooth, stepless airway path facilitates easy cleaning and allows for the insertion of suction catheters.

Anatomical Design: The tube's shape is designed to conform to the oropharyngeal anatomy for proper placement. Atraumatic Insertion: It features soft, rounded edges to minimize discomfort and trauma during insertion. Integrated Bite Block: A hard bite block is included to prevent airway occlusion from biting and to protect the tongue. Material Composition: Manufactured from a non-toxic, non-irritant PE polymer for patient safety. Color-Coded Sizing: Bite blocks are color-coded for quick and easy identification of the correct size.

Q: Is the Romsons Guedel Airway intended for single use?

A: Yes, this airway is designed for single use and comes in a sterile, peelable soft blister pack.

Q: What is the purpose of the color-coding on the bite block?

A: The bite blocks are color-coded for quick and easy identification of the airway size. The size 1 airway has a white color code.

Q: What material is used to make this airway?

A: The Romsons Guedel Airway is manufactured from a non-toxic, non-irritant PE polymer.

Q: Who should use a Guedel airway?

A: This device is intended for use by certified first responders, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals to maintain an open airway in unconscious patients. It should only be used in individuals who are unconscious, as it can stimulate a gag reflex in conscious or semi-conscious persons.

Q: How does this device help in airway management?

A: It is designed to maintain an unobstructed oropharyngeal airway by preventing the tongue from falling back and covering the epiglottis, which can block breathing. It also features an integral hard bite block to prevent the patient from biting their tongue or occluding the airway.

Maintains an open airway in unconscious patients or during anaesthesia by preventing the tongue from obstructing the air passage. Allows for the insertion of suction catheters to clear secretions from the airway. The flexible material and design help to protect the patient's teeth. An integral bite block prevents the patient from biting down and occluding the airway.

This device should only be used by trained healthcare professionals. 1. Select the correct size by measuring from the corner of the mouth to the angle of the jaw. 2. With the tip pointing towards the roof of the mouth, gently insert the airway. 3. Once the tip reaches the back of the hard palate, rotate the device 180 degrees. 4. Advance the airway until the flange rests against the patient's lips. For children, it is often recommended to insert the airway directly using a tongue depressor, without the rotation method.

For single use only; do not resterilize or reuse. This device is intended for use in unconscious patients only, as it can induce a gag reflex, vomiting, or aspiration in conscious or semi-conscious individuals. Use is contraindicated if the patient has an intact gag reflex, a foreign body obstructing the airway, or facial trauma. Incorrect sizing or improper insertion can cause tissue trauma or further obstruct the airway. Always consult a healthcare professional before use. Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

The product is sterile and individually packed in a peelable soft blister pack, ready for use. The product code is GS-2012. The Size 1 airway has a white color-coded bite block for easy identification.
