Uses of Valacyclovir

Valacyclovir is used in the treatment of shingles. It is also used to treat infections of the skin and mucous membranes (including the genital area) caused by the herpes simplex virus. It is also used to prevent cytomegalovirus infection and disease following organ transplantation.
