Uses of Saroglitazar
Saroglitazar is indicated in the treatment of diabetic dyslipidaemia and hypertriglyceridemia (high levels of triglycerides) with Type 2 diabetes mellitus not controlled by statin therapy.

How Saroglitazar works
Saroglitazar influences glucose metabolism as well as fat metabolism. It acts on certain receptors and helps in lowering high blood triglycerides as well as the glucose levels in the blood and improves insulin resistance. It acts on the liver and increases the degradation of lipids (fats) and decreases their formation as well hence, resulting in reduced triglycerides.
