S(-)Amlodipine + S(-)Metoprolol helps to reduce high blood pressure, where S(-)Amlodipine works by inhibiting the movement of calcium ions into both vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle resulting in lower blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels and improving the flow of blood to the heart muscles. S(-)Metoprolol works by reducing the force of contraction of the heart muscles by the blocking the effects of certain hormones called adrenaline and making the heart to beat more easily thus it lowers the blood pressure.
