How Rosuvastatin+Telmisartan works

Rosuvastatin reduces the levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides in the body by the blocking the actions of certain enzymes (HMG-CoA reductase) that is involved in the cholesterol production.

Telmisartan reduces blood pressure by blocking the actions of certain hormones (angiotensin-II) in the body that causes narrowing of blood vessels and increase in blood pressure. Together, they decrease blood pressure, blood lipid levels, and reduces the risk of cardiovascular disorders. 

Common side effects of Rosuvastatin+Telmisartan

• low blood pressure
• nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, constipation, diarrhea, indigestion
• headache, dizziness
• joint pain, muscle pain or back pain
• high blood sugar levels (causing frequent urination, excessive thirst, or hunger)
• high blood potassium levels (causing muscle weakness, irregular heartbeat, chest pain)

Consult your doctor if you experience:

• severe allergic reactions or peeling and swelling of the skin, blistering of skin around mouth, eyes, genitals, and fever, skin rash with red raised lump on palms of hands or sole of the feet)
• muscle weakness, tenderness or pain with fever, tiredness, red-brown discoloration of urine (signs of rhabdomyolysis)
• lupus-like disease syndrome (such as joint disorders, rash and altered count of blood cells)

Health Tips for Rosuvastatin+Telmisartan

• Rosuvastatin + Telmisartan can be taken with or without meals. Follow the dosing schedule as instructed by your doctor to achieve better results
• Rosuvastatin + Telmisartan may make you feel dizzy while standing up suddenly or changing positions. Therefore, do not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines as a precaution. Also, avoid drinking alcohol as it might make you feel dizzier and drowsier
• Rosuvastatin + Telmisartan may alter your blood sugar levels and electrolyte levels. Therefore, inform your doctor if you have diabetes or kidney problems as a precaution
• Rosuvastatin + Telmisartan is strictly not recommended for use in pregnant and in breastfeeding women as it may cause serious harm to the growing baby
