How Rifaximin works
Rifaximin is an intestinal antibiotic. It kills the susceptible bacteria that causes infection by blocking the actions of certain enzymes in the bacteria that is required for its survival. As a result, it stops the growth and multiplication of the harmful bacteria in the gut and controls diarrhoea.

- flatulence, stomach pain, constipation, diarrhoea
- urgency to empty bowels
- nausea, vomiting
- involuntary and painful or ineffective straining
- fever
