How Racecadotril works

Racecadotril gets converted into a compound that inhibits secretion of enkephalins. This results in the inhibition of activation of certain receptors which suppresses the secretion of Cl– and fluids. Thus, there occurs the reduction in the loss of fluids and electrolytes during diarrhoea.
