Uses of Nepafenac
Nepafenac is used in adults to treat and prevent eye pain and eye inflammation following cataract surgery. It can also be used to prevent the risk of macular edema (swelling at the back of the eye) following cataract surgery in diabetic patients.

How Nepafenac works
Nepafenac is an analgesic medication. It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) in the eye that causes inflammation, pain and swelling. As a result, it provides relief from post-surgical eye pain, inflammation and swelling.

- In case of accidental overdosage
- If you experience severe eye pain with redness (inflammation of iris)
Health Tips for Nepafenac
- Wash your hands thoroughly before and after using this medicine. This will help prevent the spread of infection and reduce the risk of contaminating the eye medication
- If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using this medicine. Wait at least 15 minutes before putting your contact lenses back in after applying the medication. This medicine may contain preservatives that can be absorbed by contact lenses and cause eye irritation
- Avoid rubbing your eyes after applying this medicine. Rubbing your eyes can decrease the effectiveness of the medication and increase the risk of side effects
