How Metolazone works

Metolazone works by inhibiting sodium transport across the kidney resulting in a decrease in sodium reabsorption and an increase in sodium, chloride, and water excretion. This causes a decrease in the volume of fluid in the body and diuresis (increased urinary excretion) resolves fluid retention and contributing to the antihypertensive effect.

• nausea, vomiting, congestion and diarrhea
• muscle cramps
• headache
• dizziness and tiredness

• in case of accidental overdosage
• if you experience reduced white blood cell count (flu-like symptoms, sore throat/pharynx/mouth, extreme tiredness, or urinary problems)
