Uses of Isoxsuprine
Isoxsuprine is used in the treatment of premature labor (when the uterus starts contracting for birth too early than usual), cerebral vascular insufficiency (poor blood flow to the brain) and arteriosclerosis obliterans (hardening of the arteries). It can also be used to treat Buerger's disease (blood vessels become inflamed, swollen and can become blocked with blood clots), Raynaud’s phenomenon (decreased blood flow to the nose, ears, fingers, toes, nipples or knees) and dysmenorrhea (painful menstrual cramps).

How Isoxsuprine works
Isoxsuprine works by prevents premature labor by preventing the contractions of the smooth muscles in the uterus. In peripheral vascular disease, it helps in widening of blood vessels to increase blood flow, thereby improving blood circulation to certain parts of the body (such as the hands/feet and brain).
