Iron Sucrose works by replenishing iron stores in the body which helps in the synthesis of red blood cells thus treating iron deficiency in affected individuals.
Common side effects of Iron Sucrose
- changes in taste such as metallic taste
- low or high blood pressure
- nausea
- pain, irritation, itching, haematoma (clotted blood), and/or discolouration at the injection site followed by leakage of injection into the skin
