How Imiquimod works
Imiquimod acts by increasing the activity of body’s immune system which leads to inflammatory cell infiltration and death of diseased tissue thus treating actinic keratosis and its associated symptoms in affected individuals.

- If you experience signs of low blood counts such as developing bruise more easily or feeling fatigued
Health Tips for Imiquimod
- This medicine can increase the skin's sensitivity to sunlight. It is crucial to protect the treated areas from direct sunlight during and after application. Wear protective clothing, such as long sleeves, pants and wide-brimmed hats and use sunscreen with high SPF on exposed areas
- Ensure the treated area remains clean and dry. Use mild soap and water to wash the area gently. Pat the area dry instead of rubbing it, as rubbing can irritate the skin
- Refrain from using abrasive or harsh skincare products, such as scrubs or exfoliants, on the treated area, as they can worsen irritation
- Use this medicine as directed by your doctor. Follow the recommended treatment duration and frequency of application. Do not use more or less than prescribed
- Avoid using this medicine on open wounds, cuts or broken skin. Apply it only to the affected area as prescribed by your doctor
- Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, which can contribute to overall skin health
