How Fludrocortisone works
Fludrocortisone is one of the corticosteroids that is used in the treatment of Addison’s disease and salt loosing adrenogenital syndrome. It is a condition in which the hormones that are normally produced by Adrenal glands are no more produced.
Common side effects of Fludrocortisone
- heart failure (shortness of breath with activity, or after lying down for a while)
- high blood pressure
- headache
- increased swelling
- muscle weakness, tendon rupture, pain, or wasting

- In case of accidental overdosage
- If you experience allergic or hypersensitivity reaction including anaphylaxis, symptoms include difficulty in breathing, swelling of the face, lips or tongue, severe pain in abdomen and skin rash
- If you experience serious mental health problems, symptoms include feeling depressed, thoughts about suicide, feeling high (mania), having moods swings, feeling anxious, having problems in sleeping, difficulty in thinking or being confused and losing memory
