How Fenofibric Acid works
Fenofibrate enhances lipolysis and elimination of triglyceride-rich particles from plasma by activating lipoprotein lipase and by reducing the production of apoprotein C-III (an inhibitor of lipoprotein lipase activity).
It also activates peroxisome proliferator activated receptor alpha receptor, which generates peroxisomes filled with hydrogen peroxide, reactive oxygen species and few hydroxyl radicals that also induces lipolysis and enhance lipid metabolism.

- Always take Fenofibrate exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Take your medication at the same time each day. Do not alter the dosage or stop taking it without consulting your healthcare provider.
- Adopt a heart-healthy diet that is low in saturated fats, trans fats, and cholesterol. Focus on consuming whole grains, lean proteins, fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats like those found in nuts, seeds, and fatty fish.
- Excessive alcohol intake can raise triglyceride levels and counteract the benefits of fenofibrate. So, limit or avoid your alcohol intake.
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay properly hydrated.
- Attend all scheduled follow-up appointments with your healthcare provider to monitor your lipid levels and overall health.
- Fenofibrate is not recommended for use in pregnant or planning for pregnancy or breast feeding.
