Uses of Fenofibrate+Rosuvastatin
The combination of Fenofibrate+Rosuvastatin is used to treat hyperlipidemia (high blood lipid levels) in addition to proper diet, exercise and lifestyle changes. By reducing lipid levels in the blood, it also prevents the risk of circulatory disorders.
Therapeutic Category
Fenofibrate+Rosuvastatin: Hypolipidemic drugs
How Fenofibrate+Rosuvastatin works
Both Fenofibrate+Rosuvastatin works by modulating the actions of certain enzymes that are involved in lipid metabolism (such as HMG-CoA reductase and lipoprotein lipase). This action helps in reducing the levels of bad cholesterol (VLDL and LDL) and triglycerides in the body. Additionally, it can also reduce the amount of cholesterol absorbed in the body.
By lowering the blood lipid levels, they also prevent fat deposition within the blood vessels and reduce the chances of heart attack, stroke, atherosclerosis or other circulatory problems.
