Estradiol is used to treat and relieve symptoms that occur due to decreased estrogen circulation in body in conditions such as after menopause (stoppage of monthly periods) in women (aged 45-55 years), in patients who have undergone surgery for the removal of ovaries and post-radiotherapy.

How Estradiol works

Estradiol is used in Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). Estradiol replaces the natural Estradiol, thus helping to maintain the adequate level of circulating hormones. This helps to relieve vasomotor symptoms (such as hot flashes) and prevents osteoporosis.

Common side effects of Estradiol

• headache
• nausea
• cramps in legs
• pain in stomach
• pain in pelvic region
• unscheduled bleeding or spotting
• feeling of weakness (asthenia)
• alteration of weight
• rash or itching

• In case of accidental overdosage
• If you experience, any signs of allergic reactions (such as skin rash, swelling of the face, lips, mouth, or throat which can lead to difficulty in breathing or swallowing)
• If you experience signs of liver problems such as yellowing of skin or eyes (Jaundice)
• If you experience a significant increase in blood pressure causing headache, tiredness, dizziness
• If you experience first time onset of headache like migraine
• If you experience painful, swelled, redness in legs, which may indicate blood clot
• If you experience sudden pain in chest
