Uses of Desonide
Desonide is used to relieve inflammatory and pruritic manifestation of corticosteroid responsive dermatosis in adults and children above 2 years of age.

How Desonide works
Desonide works by the induction of lipocortins (inflammatory enzyme) that results in decreased biosynthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes (potent mediators of inflammation). This prevents the release of arachidonic acid (hormone responsible for inflammatory process in the skin) that provides relief from the inflammation, redness, and itching sensation.
