How Cefpodoxime works

Cefpodoxime is a bactericidal antibiotic. It binds to the bacterial cell wall and interfere with the bacterial cell wall synthesis. This weakens the bacterial cells and causes lysis of the bacteria, leading to bacterial cell death and decrease in spread of infection.

• diarrhoea
• nausea, vomiting
• fungal infections of vagina and vulva (itching and excess discharge)
• stomach pain, flatulence, loss of appetite
• headache, dizziness
• tiredness, weakness
• ringing in the ears
• pins and needles, tingling or numbness of body parts

• severe, persistent uncontrollable diarrhea (pseudomembranous colitis)
• tiredness, pale or yellow skin (signs of anemia)
