Butenafine is used for the topical treatment of tinea versicolor (fungal infection of the skin), tinea corporis (fungal infection of the body), athlete’s foot (fungal infection of the toes and feet), and crotch itch (fungal infection of the groin and pubic region).

How Butenafine works
Butenafine works by interfering with the synthesis of certain essential components of the fungal cell membrane that causes increased cellular permeability of the cell membrane resulting in leakage of cellular contents causing destruction of the fungal cells and thus effectively treats fungal infection.

- Application site reactions (include burning, stinging and itching sensation or contact dermatitis (itchy rashes))

- Before applying butenafine, wash the affected area(s) thoroughly and let it dry fully. Apply a thin layer to the skin and rub it gently and completely
- Avoid getting Butenafine in your eyes, nose, or mouth. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water
- If you notice any skin reaction, including signs of allergy or irritation, stop using butenafine
- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day
- Inform your healthcare provider about all the medications, supplements, and over-the-counter drugs you are taking
