How Blonanserin works

Blonanserin works by blocking dopamine D2 receptors (proteins responsible for synthesis and release of dopamine) in brain which results in reduced synthesis of dopamine thus improving thoughts, feelings and behaviour and thereby treating symptoms of schizophrenia.

Common side effects of Blonanserin

• tremor in limbs, muscle rigidity, slow movement (symptoms of Parkinson's syndrome)
• restlessness
• insomnia
• drowsiness
• anxiety
• irritability
• itchiness or rash

When to consult your doctor

Consult your doctor if you experience:

• acute fever, muscle rigidity, tremor in limbs
• involuntary movement of face, particularly around the mouth
• loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting and/or severe constipation
• pain, stiffness and/or numbness in the muscles of the limbs
• In case of accidental overdosage
