How Ammonium Chloride+Chlorpheniramine+Sodium Citrate works
Ammonium chloride, Chlorpheniramine, and Sodium Citrate help to treat cough. Ammonium chloride is an expectorant that works by decreasing the stickiness of airway secretions and helps in their removal from the airways. Chlorpheniramine maleate is an antihistamine that blocks the binding of histamine (responsible for allergic reactions such as sneezing, watery and itchy eyes, and runny nose) to Histamine H1 receptors, thus preventing allergic reactions. Sodium Citrate is a mucolytic that thins and loosens phlegm in the nose, trachea, and lungs. Together, they relieve cough effectively.
