How Amitriptyline+Pantoprazole works
Amitriptyline + Pantoprazole manages gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) associated with anxiety. Amitriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant which increases the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that help in regulating the mood and manage depression. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor which reduces the amount of acid in the stomach and relieves acid-related indigestion and heartburn.
Common side effects of Amitriptyline+Pantoprazole
- benign polyps (tissue growth) in the stomach
- sleepiness, drowsiness
- shakiness of hands or other body parts
- dizziness, headache
- dizziness when you stand up due to low blood pressure (orthostatic hypotension)
- irregular, hard or rapid heartbeat
- dry mouth
- nausea
- excessive sweating
- weight gain
- slurred or slow speech, aggression
- congested nose
- sexual disturbances

- In case of accidental overdosage
- If you experience swelling of the tongue and/ or throat, difficulty in swallowing, hives (nettle rash), difficulties in breathing, allergic facial swelling (quincke’s oedema/angioedema), severe dizziness with a very fast heartbeat and heavy sweating
- If you experience blistering of the skin and rapid deterioration of the general condition, peeling of the skin of eyes, nose, mouth/lips or genitals (stevens johnson-syndrome, lyell-syndrome, erythema multiforme)
- If you experience sensitivity to light
- If you experience intermittent blurring of vision, rainbow vision and eye pain
- If you experience constipation, a swollen stomach, fever and vomiting
- If you experience yellowing of the skin and white of the eyes (jaundice)
- If you experience persistent sore throat and fever
- If you experience elf-harming thoughts
Health Tips for Amitriptyline+Pantoprazole
- Take Amitriptyline + Pantoprazole exactly as directed by your doctor. Follow the specified dosage and regimen. Do not change the dosage or discontinue the medicine without first consulting your doctor
- Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking Amitriptyline + Pantoprazole as it may cause sleepiness
- Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel dizzy or have vision disturbance after taking Amitriptyline + Pantoprazole
- Amitriptyline + Pantoprazole is not recommended for use in pregnant woman or if you think you might become pregnant and in breastfeeding women as it may pass through breastmilk to the baby
- Amitriptyline + Pantoprazole is not recommended for use in individuals with severe liver disease and who had heart attack or any other heart problems like disturbance in heart rhythm
- Before taking Amitriptyline + Pantoprazole inform your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken prescription medicines, over the counter drugs (OTC), supplements including herbal products as it may interact with each other leading to potential decrease in therapeutic effectiveness or increase the risk of any unusual effects
