How Alcaftadine works

Alcaftadine blocks the effects of certain chemicals (Ex. histamines) in the body which are responsible for triggering the allergic response. As a result, when applied topically into the eyes, it prevents the onset of allergic reactions such as eye itching, irritation, or inflammation.

Common side effects of Alcaftadine

• Eye redness, irritation, itching, or burning or stinging sensation
• Headache
• Inflammation of the nose and throat
• Blurred vision, drowsiness

• Signs of allergic reaction (such as skin rash, itching, difficulty in breathing or swelling of the eyes)
• Intolerable eye pain/discomfort with eye redness and changes in vision
