How Adapalene+Benzoyl Peroxide works
Adapalene is a topical retinoid (a type of vitamin A). It modulates the skin cell cycle and prevents the accumulation of excess sebum (natural oil produced by the skin) and dead skin cells on the hair follicles of the skin. It also reduces inflammation on the skin.
Benzoyl peroxide is a keratolytic agent with antimicrobial properties. It improves skin’s tendency to exfoliate the dead skin cells naturally. It also reduces the number of acne-causing bacteria on the skin which can reduce the further spread of acne.
Together, they unclog the hair follicles of the skin and exfoliates dead skin cells which reduces acne breakouts.
