How Adapalene works

Adapalene modulates cellular keratinization and inflammatory process. This anti-inflammatory effect is due to inhibition of the lipoxygenase activity and also to oxidative metabolism of arachidonic acid. Although the exact mode of action is unknown, it is suggested that adapalene normalizes the differentiation of thyroid epithelial cells resulting in decreased pimples/acne.

• Dryness, irritation, redness and burning sensation of skin

• severe allergic reaction (swelling of the face, lips or throat) making it difficult to swallow or breathe
• rashes, itching, hives (round, red rash with swelling) and dizziness
• angioedema symptoms such as painless swelling under the skin
